Pony Stock: Winter Games

This is my favourite in a series of winter images of Shetland ponies chasing and fighting one another for pure joy of being outside. Picasso, the leopard, was rearing, while Grisu, the chestnut, was turning and trying to kick him (he's more of the biting and kicking type, not the rearing and running type like Picasso). So when Picasso wanted to land on all four again, there was a pony in his way, who - to add insult to injury - was moving. Hence the cross-legged pose of Picasso. It reminds me of the famous cowboy illustration where the cowboy and his horse lean on a wall, horse legs crossed.
